I am a tea lover, tea is my vice. On a normal day, I drink at least one pot, maybe even two.
In Istanbul, people drink tea in a different way than I do at home. But on my first trip there I learned the way. The small cup of strong ceylon tea with sugar. The small benches or chairs, you can find them everywhere and it doesn't cost much.
Sitting down for a tea quite often breaks up the day and rests my legs and back. The tea breaks make my Istanbul street photography walks much more enjoyable.
Watching the tea culture is so interesting. All the little places to sit down of course. From two plastic chairs at a wall to amazingly beautiful establishments where you can really feel history in its walls. But also the small army of walkaround tea sellers with their trays, swiftly walking around the market alleys dishing out the small glasses and collecting the empty.
